DOMS 101: How to recover from muscle soreness
Being sore means you challenged your muscles. It doesn't always mean you had a 'better' workout, but it's a sign of new stimulus.
Active Recovery
The best cure for soreness is often light movement. A walk or light stretching improves blood flow to the muscles.
Frequently asked questions
Should I skip my workout?
If you can't move properly, take a rest day. If it's just mild soreness, training can actually help.
Do cold showers help?
They can reduce inflammation, but don't do them immediately after a strength session if muscle growth is your main goal.
